These are marks on the face of people in africa usually used for identity, It shows what tribe the person is from, different tribes have there different tribal marks. It is ussually done when the person is an infant, it is done with a kind of hot knife that is used to to cut the face of the person, the cut is quite deep so that it does not cover up and it remains permanent. tribal marks where used in the olden days to identify people. It was a sort of cultural thing.

  1. This is very interesting, but what is the name of this tribal mark? You have very interesting ideas here, but it would be better if you can expand your ideas and give more details. - Miranda

  2. ohhhh my gosh..
I am happy that I was not born in Africa. I think it's painful to have a tribal mark. It's interesting though.

  3. It's terrible and scare. However, I think most countries have the cruel way to identify their differences in the old time.

  4. It's interesting. Do they make the mark for beauty? Can they refuse to do it if they don't want? You had better explain more details.

  5. Natsumi brought up a very good point that I didn't think of. Sufiy, did the tribe do the marking for beauty? If not, it may not be considered as a kind of extreme beauty practice.
