  2. The VOA Special English Health Report represented an investigational H.I.V. vaccine that showed the ability to prevent infection. Scientists say that an experimental vaccine reduced the risk of infection to H.I.V in humans by about 30%. It was the largest AIDS vaccine trial yet. This findings showed an important step forward but the additional research is needed to better understand how the vaccine reduced the risk in those individuals. Also, the vaccine could not lower the amount of virus in the blood of people who became infected so there still have much work to do on a vaccine against H.I.V.

  3. Jack Bauer you have done a good job but you still need to state the audio paragraph you listen to.

To every body i noticed that when you come one the activity page all the audio paragraphs start playing. You have to pause all of them and play the one you want to listen to.

  4. Audio 1

Cats are the most popular pet among American, so that they have various expressions about cats. Many expressions are introduced in this passage such as “he looks like a cat that ate a canary” to express a person who are proud of himself, “copy cats” for people always copying others’ work and a “fat cat” for the rich.
We have also many metaphors about cats in Japanese. Most languages might have expressions about animals. These tell us what image and opinion people in the culture have about an animal.

  5. Audio #4 it seems like a informal speech about economics and about how everything on the internet should be shared equally, however then i couldn't understand because it started cutting out on each word and it was weird. Is that suppose to happen?

  6. Audio 3

Vitamin d helps bones and muscles to grow healthy, lack of this vitamin can lead to many health problems, it also has many other healthy uses. There are many ways to get this vitamin, main source is sun, but negative effect is sun radiation. Also, we can find it in many food like salmon fish, eggs, cheese... We also have to be careful with taking right doses, because vitamin d can act like toxic in case of overuse. Studies proved that d vitamin prevents breast cancer, and other cancers. I think that this lecture is just one of reminders how important vitamins are. All vitamins are equally important and healthy, but in good doses.
